Anyone else having issues RDCing into a work PC from home, mine keeps hanging and then disconnecting without the chance of reconnecting?

Working inside 3dsmax is fine, just Vantage is mega fussy with this latest release.

Our dev team uses RD all the time. I guess you're using a very heavy scene and Windows is struggling. Try the "improved desktop responsiveness" option in Preferences. Also try to always use a denoiser because the raw noisy image requires lots of bandwidth and RD chokes.
