  • Vantage not starting

    Hi,

Just installed Vantage for Cinema 4d 20225 and Vray 7 to investigate the possibilities for animation. I have save the Cinema 4D file as a .vrscene and saved the file with assets to make sure all textures are exported. I have placed those in a folder "textures" in a new Vantage folder. When importing the scene I get an error that the GPU doesn't respond to tasks, probably because of an invalid task of the application.

This is either a bug or the system ran out of resources

I have AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3960X 24-Core Processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 and latest driver installed.

Is this to light for animation? Original project file is approximatly 2.3 GB (due to lot's of plant models).

    Any way to fix this?

You can try disabling "safe GPU allocations" before opening the scene. But it's doubtful it will help if your scene is very geometry heavy.
How much RAM do you have ?
Also what's the resolution in your cinema4d scene ? You can try lowering that before exporting the .vrscene.

Also before opening the scene, you can try setting the displacement tessellation level to "None".

        Hi Vladimir,

Thanks for reaching out! I've lowered the resolution to 1920x1080, disabled safe GPU allocations and set the tesselation level to none as you proposed. Scene still won't open and I get the same message. I have 128 GB worth of RAM.

If you can send us the scene, I can check how much VRAM it needs to open correctly or if it's indeed a bug that's preventing it from opening.
We will need the c4d file, the vrscene file and any textures and other external files.
You can open a support ticket for this or upload the scene to an online service and send the link to the e-mail in my signature.
