  • Wish items for day-to-day archvis use

I know there is some debate about Vantage's current role in making "finished" quality output, but for daily desktop design reviews, I think its a great tool. Looking forward to continued refinement.
In that same vein, 2 things I'd like to see:
    • XBOX controller navigation
    • ability to package as a stand-alone .exe
Both of these are available with revit & enscape, and they've become quite useful.

Curious if either or both are on the Vantage road map.

    Hi

We already have Xbox and SpaceMouse 3Dconnexion controller logged on our TODO/wishlist, but there is no ETA at this time.

What do you mean about "standalone exe"? To export a scene/animation as a playable exe file?

Yes, exactly... a self contained file that could be shared/played by a client/owner that does not have Vantage. Ideally, it would be stand-alone, although using a free "player" would also help.

I would like to second the standalone exe add to the wishlist. Enscape has become a very useful tool and part of that success is the ability to create standalone playability.

Ideally, you need a way to export whatever you have created, to ios/android/web etc, anything platform that a non archviz client might use

            On exporting to a self-contained .exe -
With the current Vantage renderer, the recipient of that .exe would need an RTX card to run it.
How feasible is that for the people you'd want to share the .exe with?

            Thanks,

Hello everyone, and thanks for the input!

Yes, exactly... a self contained file that could be shared/played by a client/owner that does not have Vantage.
As Phil pointed out, even if Vantage is included in a stand alone app it would not run properly without an RTX graphics card. Could you elaborate on what is the desired process and result you aim for, together with expectations? What is the target device minimum specification? Do you need mobile support?

Ideally, you need a way to export whatever you have created, to ios/android/web etc, anything platform that a non archviz client might use
Usually targeting these devices and platforms require optimizations and baking. This is because Vantage relies on DXR, which currently only RTX cards support. So options here would be:
              • Baking the results to a less computationally demanding engine - e.g. OpenGL ES, WebGL, etc.
              • Rendering to a panoramic image/video.
              • Offloading rendering to a remote workstation and streaming the rendered result over the internet.
              • Something else I may be missing
What would be the preferred way to go in your case? Each of those have different benefits, compromises and specifics.

              Best regards,
              Simeon

We have many RTX ready laptops spread throughout the firm. As a Viz group inside a medium sized arch firm this would allow us to deliver to the project teams a higher quality version of what they are already seeing in Enscape. I'm not exactly looking for something that can be handed off to a client but more something our designers drive themselves when sharing the project with clients and even in-house reviews.

Hi is it possible or will it be possible in the future to output (vantage) projects datei in html5 files like in unreal for the web?

The standalone .exe function would be worth it's weight in gold. We need functionality that other people can interact with, other than that this is insanely good.

Maybe add bercon map support, most buildings are bricks these days and that handles them well.

                    Thanks

What about adding to Vantage some magic like UE5 Lumen? Don't know how it works but it doesn't seem to be using raytrace at all. To produce an executable with a Lumen like GI (or fake non raytraced GI) that require less resources to run could be a great option.

Yes, none of my clients (which are BIG) use anything that comes close to RTX. Although they run Enscape standalones on very basic laptops.
I myself can stream heavy VR (Lumion, TwinMotion, Unreal and even realtime MAX-work) to my clients. So why not offer to put files on a good server and stream them with the right dedicated interface?

We are experimenting with such a possibility now and it's looking promising - stay tuned!
