  • Mouse Wheel Zoom Jump Levels Too Much - Gradual Zooming Shortcut with Mouse Wheel Request

I noticed on a few of my larger scenes involving buildings and parking lots, that the mouse wheel zoom jumps in larger increments and that I can't smoothly zoom in or out to get something properly framed.
It would be great if there was a Max-like zoom shortcut which allowed for gradual zooming versus incremental steps.

It happens often when I adjust the FOV and Shift so that it resembles an orthographic view on one of these scenes.
Switching over to walk causes the camera to go crazy and I lose the view that I had set up, so those keyboard shortcuts (Q, E, W, and Z) don't work for this. It may have something to do with this orthographic workaround.
Also using Imperial measurements in case this makes a difference too.

    Hi jujubee,

There is already a smooth zoom option as in Max - Ctrl+Alt+ MMB if you are using the 3ds Max navigation preset. You can check and set shortcuts from Edit>Mouse and Key Shortcuts. You can also change the speed movement from the Camera tab > Move speed for cases where the default speed is not enough or is too big such as your case. Also there is a mouse speed button in the top toolbar for finer andustments to the camera.

    Best regards,
    Alexander

I'll check again, but I think I had already tried that.
I think part of it might have to be related to the "orthographic" workaround values recently posted in response to my wishlist request in this section (see below settings):
