  • isolate geometry in max should not sychronize in live link

    Hi Vantage team
While I am working in max with live link Vantage , I often isolate an object so that I edit it.
Unfortunately this sychronizes with Vantage and takes time to when i end isolate mode and unhide everything.
This breaks a continuous intuitive workflow between editing in max and previewing changes in Vantage.
The same when very often hide all geometry so that i edit lights in the scene while previewing in Vantage.
If you can make it by default so that these isolation modes are not synchronized in Vantage and then give the possibility in preferences if you want to change this.

If the vatange team doesn't synchronize the windows of 3dsmax during real-time linking, there may be no way to isolate objects for observation when necessary, and vantage won't know when you need it.

If necessary. You can turn on the rendering hidden geometry function of 3dsmax. In this way, when you isolate the display object, you will no longer follow the display object of 3dsamx window.

      Hi digital_technologies,

As what q976431 said, we wouldn't know if the object would be isolated for editing purposes or deliberately so it is not visible in the final render. You could make that request to the V-Ray for 3ds Max team. Vantage receives and shows what is being exported from Max when in Live Link(which is actually the DR protocol that V-Ray uses, so anything that is currently being/or not/ rendered in Vantage will be what V-Ray GPU IPR renders(provided it is supported in Vantage)).

      Best regards,
      Alexander
