  • When linking in real time,The pause rendering button is automatically turned on when vantage loses focus

    Can you add this option to use it when needed. For example, long press the pause rendering button to switch to this function,
    Let me talk about its benefits.
    In some large scenes, it is necessary to manually turn on pause rendering to release the performance of GPU, otherwise 3dsmax will be slow. Now I turn on and off this button manually, which may need to be clicked hundreds of times a day.
    If you open this function when necessary, you can automatically judge the switch pause rendering according to whether the vantage window is activated. That's very convenient

    I have observed that when it is not a real-time link, it is executed in this way.
    Can you add a new button to implement it when linking in real time

    I'm not sure if I understand the question correctly, but there is an option: "Edit->Preferences->Pause when app loses focus" - is this what you are looking for?

      Sorry, I use Google translation. It may not be very clear.;
      Your understanding is right.;
      But now this function only works when it is not a real-time link,;
      It will be more convenient if a switch is added to make it effective when connecting with 3dsmax in real time;

        Oh, I see. The auto-pause is disabled when you are in live link because the focus is usually on 3ds Max and you would usually want Vantage to render while it's NOT focused, with the window somewhere to the side of 3ds Max (or with the always-on-top option).

        How would it work otherwise? If you have to focus Vantage to make it update and render the changes you made in 3ds Max it would require the same number of clicks as pausing it manually with the button...

        There is another way to try to avoid the issue - by trying to make Vantage use the GPU at less than 100%. It's in our plans to try to do it (though there is no guarantee how well it would work).

          Yes, switching window focus and pressing pause manually require the same number of mouse clicks
          Just don't need to find that little button.
          If Vantage is less than 100% GPU usage.
          Because such a function has not been realized yet. There is no way to judge whether this method is more convenient than clicking pause rendering.
          In fact, frequent clicks to pause rendering will not affect too much time. Just get used to it..

          In normal scenes, it doesn't affect anything. I can keep real-time rendering turned on.
          But if it is a relatively large scene. I have to reduce the usage of some GPUs to ensure that 3dsmax can use it

            By the way, you can also use the Pause key on the keyboard (when Vantage has focus) instead of the toolbar button. I don't know if this makes it easier for you or not.

              Thank you very much. This is also a way. I've been looking for a shortcut key for it. If it defaults to pause key, then my problem has been solved. Maybe I can make a tool to automatically send pause key to vantage when I lose focus.
