  • interoperability between platforms

    Dear Vantage team,
After spending more than a year fully working with Vantage, I came to the conclusion that the biggest step still missing is the possiblity for Vantage to become like Nvidia omniverse.
A platform that you can bring from different software and render in Vantage. Then vrscene will be the format (as in case of omniverse is the sdk)
Working in a big architectural firm, the biggest time saver will be if we could avoid exporting and importing between different software, like rhino , 3ds max, Enscape libraries, vray libraries, cosmos library....
The best way i can imagine would be that you can connect rhino , 3ds max simultaneously to Vantage , or even better the vrscene format to be a fast way to bring your scene with materials, ligths.... from one app to another seamlessly.

In order to recap, I place this link to Omniverse, which I think could be of great inspiration for Vantage team.
Having worked in both platforms, I have to say that Vantage is more intuitive, but the bigger goal I think is at the end frontline what omniverse is building.
I can easily imagine Vantage being the rendrering platform , in which you plugin different modeling, texturing software... and create virtual worlds
Thank you very much for your consideration

The vantage team still has a lot of work to do. They now need to be compatible with more Vray functions or some general functions without affecting too much rendering speed. When these problems are solved, I believe that it will be faster to support vantage to other platforms or software

It should already be possible to bring in .vrscenes from different host apps (V-Ray for 3dsMax, Maya, SketchUp, Rhino, Revit, Cinema4D) and merge them inside Vantage.
      Have you tried it ?
      What were the issues ?
