  • Inverse gamma for Hdri's

I often use the inverse gamma option in 3dsmax for Hdri's. It gives such punch to the contrast and colors.
Especially when working with custom hdri's.
Problem is that it doesn't translate to Vantage.
Would like to have exactly the same lighting in both programs.

    Hi philip_nel,

We have such a request for etxture manipulation logged but it is not in development yet and cannot say when it will be available. As a workaround currently you could bake that gamma correction to the HDR and use it instead. This way the lighting will match.

    Best regards,

Hi Alexander, thanks for the response.
This may be a dumb question, but exactly how would the baking process work?

until its not yet supported direct in Vantage, as a workaround you can stick an exposure adjustment layer on top of the HDRI in PS, then adjust it's gamma or offset setting
        Kind Regards,
