  • Van 2.0 - no refraction glossiness ???

    HEY,
First, thanks for releasing the new version. It was required.
But seriously?! NO REFRACTION GLOSSINESS ??? NO OPACITY ?
Every realtime rendering engine supports these things these days.
Lots of architects use it and these are very necessary things.
Is it possible to understand if it will be soon? when and how? It is very important .
Especially following the changes in software costs.
And we would be really happy if the support for Railclone and Forest would be better.
    Thanks .

    Hi elad_haqa,

Refraction glossiness and stochastic Opacity(currently only clip opacity is supported) are on the TO DO list and we will add support for them the future. Can you give and example what features you lack with Railclone and Forest pack that are not working for you?

    Best regards,
    Alexander

      Hi,
Ok, that's really good to hear but I hope it will be updated really soon...
Railclone objects (the most updated version) seem to be missing sometimes in real time in Vantage and what I have to do is actually set them as MESH and then run "TURN TO MESH" as a modifier on the railclone but this can definitely have a negative effect on the heaviness of the scene.
Also, most of the time RailClone objects are not updated properly according to what is happening in Viewport. Please check this. Maybe it is related to ITOO....

Another common problem ever since the first version, is that the BUMP maps do not appear properly in the Vantage rendering. Although the maps are supported.
I have attached a simple rendering with standard materials from Cosmos and you can see the problem.

      Thanks

Can you attach a scene too or tell us which material it is ?

However, they do work with normal mapping or other maps (diffuse, glossiness, etc), just not bump maps.

              Hi elad_haqa,

Can you please send us a sample of the Rail clone objects that are not rendering in Vantage or a video showing the issue? Also is this behavior happening when using V-Ray IPR ?

              Best regards,
              Alexander

                Hi,
Sure, I'm attaching a link to the file.

                https://we.tl/t-xK7VpcqhlJ

This happens in every scene that includes Railclone objects. They just don't show up in realtime in Vantage arbitrarily, then what I have to do is to change the display state of each Railclone object (adaptive/boxes/quickmash for example.. ) in order for me to see it in realtime rendering.
Sometimes it also seems that the material of the Railcon remains solid and does not update to the real material in real time.

In normal IPR mode, it seems that there are no problems at the moment.
In both situations - of course the railclone disappears and is not visible at all in the viewport during any rendering. Which I hope will change soon...

We will be glad to have it fixed

Ok, problems also appear in GPU IPR Mode.
                  Just like Vantage
