  • Refraction glossiness ??

    HEY
What's up with that ? Is it that complicated?
And what about FULL OPACITY MODE /texture support ?

    Very necessary things

Unfortunately Vantage supports only the "clip" opacity mode, so a single particular pixel can be only fully transparent or fully opaque. They've said in 2020 that might support the full opacity modes in the near future, which will enable Vantage to support the V-Ray Light material's opacity. We're in 2023 and that function hasn't been implemented. They are more preoccupied overhauling the UI instead of implementing necessary things.

Luckly there is a temporary workaround to achieve a render with gradient maps. Set the bitmap/map (but inverted) on the "Refract" slot and set the Refract IOR to 1. (That's how I do).

texture support = OPACITY MAP. Normal mode...not just absolute black & white
vasile_bulgac1 gave an idea... ill give it a try

I have posted my workaround for the opacity trick which works 100% and simulate the opacity exactly like V-Ray
