  • improve scene states

Right now it is extremely complicated and not intuitive the system of subscene states.
It should be like the main button of save scene state saves exactly all settings, ligths, hdri , sun rotation , placement of objects, materials with just one click.
Then every time you add the state to a camera it should replicate exactly all these settings with one click. you should as well be able to override a scene state.
Then it would be amazing if vantage could interpolate, blend, mix , fade between different scene states, like for example scene state 1 is a day HDRI , and state 2 is a different sunset HDRI. if vantage could make a smooth fade transition between these two different states.
The same for states with different materials, or opacity of objects from 0 to 1.
Only then scene state will reach its unbelievable potential, for archviz which is the following:
On a archviz film for a big project you want usually to make a storytelling of different parts of the project shown at different time, skies, inner lights, and through an animate camera flythrough, that is continuous.
So you want at some point of this continuous camera to have a nice transition of the different settings that you have set for different places of the project
    thanks

    Hi digital_technologies,

Right now it is extremely complicated and not intuitive the system of subscene states. It should be like the main button of save scene state saves exactly all settings, ligths, hdri , sun rotation , placement of objects, materials with just one click.
Sub-states are essential part if you want to create material assignments, lights , environment, color correction and object setups manually and then mix and match those into scene states. With the create Scene state button we introduced in 2.0.1 it is no longer
required for you to create or update sub-states manually.

Then every time you add the state to a camera it should replicate exactly all these settings with one click. you should as well be able to override a scene state.
In 2.2.0 we modified the update button in the Scene states tab which does auto updating and creating(when necessary) of sub-states for the scene state that you chose to update. If there is an issue with the update then we should investigate it.

This is something we have it logged in our system under LAV-1769 but in order for this to work it would most likely mean to have the Scene state1 and Scene state 2 loaded in memory which means that it will increase memory consumption and reduce performance.

    Best regards,
    Alexander
