when double click a vrscene to bring the open, place , merge dialogue to the running vantage. plus when drag drop a vantage scene to open dialogue

Dear Vantage team
A very useful , powerful workflow with vantage is to have your archviz scene open in vantage as root scene, and then drag drop vrscenes of tree, vegetation, people, cars......
Right now you need to find the vrscene and drag and drop it to running vantage for the open,merge dialogue to appear. Instead if you double click it it will ask you if you want to open a second vantage running.
It would be very handy if you can make it when double click a vrscene to open the merge, place , open dialogue on the running vantage, instead of opening a second vantage file.
Additionally when you drag drop a vantage scene file or when you double click a vantage file it would be nice if a dialogue would appear in the running vantage if you want to use as configuration only or if you want to load the vantage scene.

Thank you for the suggestion! Can you please post this and all future ideas in the Chaos Vantage Idea portal where other users can vote on suggested ideas and see statuses(Pending, Accepted, Planned, Released, Declined) on ideas. Additionally users will be notified on status change and added comment.

My question though is that chaos forums has been ideal up to now cause there is much a conversation between our suggestions and you developpers that has been very fruitful,
Do you think the same will be on the ideas portal

Hi digital_technologies,

Yes, we can definitely continue to have conversations in the Idea portal. The idea(no pun intended) is to have a centralized place where suggestions for new features and improvements can be gathered and voted so there are better metrics of how many users want a specific features. This will help us in the planning process for development. What is really nice about the idea portal is the status system. There are 6 statuses in total:

• New - All newly submitted ideas are given the New status and are only visible to the person who posted them. After initial revision will be move to a Pending status.
• Pending - This status defines that the idea is in pending review by our product management team whether to be accepted to declined.
• Accepted - Once an idea is accepted for development it receives the Accepted status which means that it will be implemented in Chaos Vantage at some point.
• Planned - When an idea is in a Planned status that means it is picked for development and should be publicly available in the next couple of releases.
• Released - Once an idea is implemented and released publicly it receives the Released state. A comment will be added in what version the idea was released.
• Declined - From a Pending status an idea can get the Declined status if it does not align with the current product strategy and will not be implemented. This does not mean it will not change its status in the future if the strategy changes.

When a comment or a status for an idea changes, the creator of the idea should receive a notification email with the update.

Hope this will give a better understanding behind the Idea portal initiative which is already being implemented in Chaos Cosmos, Vantage, Enscape, Chaos Cloud and Cylindo and will be implemented and available soon in V-Ray(all platforms) and Corona as well.
