Aloha, The Liquid Sim used to work but now only makes a brick (in the container). It used to work and I have other files that have been created that worked properly, but now all I get is a brick. Mahalo for any help! Aloha

Hey,
Could you give us some more information - what is your exact Phoenix version? Also, if you could attach the Phoenix log file, it will be very useful for us - you could find it in C:\ChaosPhoenix
A simplified scene where the problem reproduces or video/screenshot showing the problem on your side will be very helpful too
Thanks!Last edited by slavina.nikolova; 17-02-2025, 12:28 AM.Slavina Nikolova

Hello, could you please describe the result more clearly? The statement "The simulation creates only a brick" doesn't offer any insight into how your setup is configured or what the issue might be. If possible, please include a screenshot of the viewport, a rendered image, and/or the simulation settings. Thank you.

Aloha zdravko, Mahalo for the response! As I have persevered through the tutorials; understanding the new Max is getting more clear. At the point I submitted this "brick" question, any wave simulation I tried suddenly had this brick in it, sometimes without particle support. Finally, I have developed enough background that I am actually getting a wave simulation that will likely be useful. But attached is a screen grab of the brick which hopefully is no longer a problem. My question now is what is it and where did it come from? It just popped in as I was creating a container and I could not remove it. Mahalo again for the help! BTW, the tutorial that was involved is the 4 year old Nightly regarding Wave Force. With a little more patience, everything seems to be working swimmingly! Aloha

Hey,
This looks like a second Phoenix Simulator. Check in the Scene Explorer if there are two Simulators. Is it possible that you created the second one by accident?
Do you have any other scenes where the second Simulator appeared suddenly or is it only in this particular scene?
Thanks!Last edited by slavina.nikolova; 18-02-2025, 11:36 PM.Slavina Nikolova

Aloha Slavina, Yes, the blue wave is the first simulation and the objective of the exercise. I have no idea where the second one, the brick, came from. The Scene Explorer lists the Liquid001 and the Wave Force, but the Max file only lists Liquid001. Interesting though that the Max file that is working also only lists only the Liquid001 simulation. However, both of the Max files have the Wave Force icons displayed but unnoted and the first one also has the brick. Mahalo for the help! I am really happy I finally got the waves (actually swells) created with the Wave Force and that they are manipulable. There are very specific 16 foot swells I want to create and another set in another file that are 30 foot swells. If you know what you are doing, they are a lot of fun! Mahalo again! Aloha

Hey,
Could you send us the scenes where the problem is visible, so we could check what is happening?
You could attach them here or send them through the Support Portal - https://support.chaos.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Aloha Slavina, One problem solved! My Wave Force Helper was not displaying because I did not have the helper display enabled. My new and more careful following of the 4 year old "Phoenix FD 4.30.01 Nightly - Massive Wave Force" tutorial (YouTube) is reaping dividends as I apply it to my needs. Attached is the Scene (Max file) for the scene the screen grab in fifth Post above. Oops! Chaos says I cannot upload files ending in M a x. Going to your "support" link. This file was an independent follow of the tutorial mentioned and was going real well until the brick was thrown into the works. I finally got so desperate that I copied my direct follow of the tutorial and modified it to fit my needs - well, so much for that idea! Mahalo for the help! Aloha
