  • Can a Node license from a another app's plugin be used with Swarm?

From what I understand, an app plug-in comes with a separate render node license to do the actual rendering, and also that Swarm needs an additional render node license to render on another machine. I am mainly using SketchUp, but am considering getting V-Ray for Maya as well. If Maya is not running at the same time, can the Node license that came with that be used on another machine for Swarm rendering with SketchUp?

    Hello,

In case you get 1x V-Ray 3.0 for SketchUp workstation license and 1x V-Ray 3.0 for Maya workstation license you will be able to use V-Ray 3.0 in both SketchUp and Maya on a single workstation at the same time. When rendering on the local workstation (even if you start rendering with V-Ray in both SketchUp and Maya simultaneously) only 1x V-Ray 3.0 Render node license will be engaged as the V-Ray licenses are engaged per machine. This will leave you with one additional V-Ray 3.0 Render node license which will allow you to use a second machine as a render node.
