Swapping servers?

Hello,

We are decommissioning the server that hosts Vray licenesing and moving the service to a new server. How do I update all the client pc's to find the new server?

You will need to change their V-Ray client license settings to point to the ip address of the new machine, follow the link below:

Or just simply update the license settings in one machine and then copy the file from the following directory to the other machines:
"C:\Program Files\Common Files\ChaosGroup\vrlclient.xml"

The above mentioned file holds the V-Ray client license information and can be copied into the same directory on the other machines in order to update their client license settings faster.

Depending on the size of your company, consider using a domain. We have all our licenses pointing to license.domainname.local. In DNS manager, this is an Alias for the current server where the license manager is running.
So ever since we setup our domain I only ever had to remap the Alias if the server hosting the license manager got swapped.
