  • V-Ray Collection Academic Edition?

Currently to use V-Ray for educational purposes, you have to pay prices for individual editions of the plugin, as you do with commercial versions. However, say you have to use several applications (possibly including a game engine or compositing software) for creating a portfolio, and require your .vrscene file to travel with your workload.

Has the company considered a solution where students or institutions would have access to all of these for a year, or perhaps up to any six applications V-Ray supports + Phoenix FD?

    Dear Simon,

Currently, Chaos Group's education policy allows students to purchase one seat per year for any product included in the Chaos Group portfolio for education.

Universities are eligible to purchase as many licenses as they need, so you can always ask your teachers to supply the lab with what you and your classmates need.

Also, you can get a free 30-day trial for each product you need for testing purposes.

And of course, if you need anything, you can always contact Chaos at "sales@chaosgroup.com".
