  • Render Cloud Credits > Cost Calculations

I've searched the forums and the Cloud webpage on the Chaosgroup website for information on what 1 credit equates to. I can't find anything, only a table that tells me the cost per credits with bulk discounts.
What could I accomplish with 100 credits, for example? We use Rhino+Vray and would be producing interior and exterior renders. Thanks!

It is roughly 13 minutes of rendering, per my calculations.

            Hello everyone,

I'm sorry for the slow reply.

Credits are linked to a certain amount of compute time on Intel “Skylake” generation CPUs. The underlying hardware configuration may vary a bit according to availability, but the amount of credit cost for the same image should be consistent. As time goes by, we believe the processing speed will only increase, which should reduce the credit cost to create the same image. Also keep in mind that the credit usage covers all the costs for uploading, downloading, storing your project and its results, and starting your jobs instantly (i.e. no extra credits are spent for higher priority jobs).

We highly encourage you to use your free credit allowance to test the current performance of the service relative to your type of work for the best estimate of what a credit is providing you. The best way to estimate is to render a test image and to note how many credits it consumed and then expand that cost by what your final job will take (in terms of final resolution, quality, frames, etc.). We plan to provide more accurate estimating tools for you to use for our final service.

For answers to these and other frequently asked questions, please have a look at the updated FAQ section on our website.

            Best,

Is also GPU based Progressive supported?
              Or only CPU based Bucket?

It seems that vray cloud is more expensive ( 3 times! ) since i upgraded to vray next ( rhino) . Same scenes with same geometry and materials take longer to render and are sky high expensive. Is this normal?
