Do I need to go through a reseller to upgrade?

Hi,

After going through he "Upgrade calculator" for my licenses it mentions "Request upgrade" does it mean that I can just pay online now and upgrade or do I need to go through a reseller?

Also If my initial reseller was in one country and I moved to another country can I still use the same reseller to upgrade in case the above is not valid?

Thanks Valentina. This could be a little off topic but I was just curious, what is the reason behind using resellers instead of a direct online purchase? it is just faster and easier to directly purchase from you online instead of going through a middle man.

I agree, the reseller thing is huge pain really. I had to drop the local reseller here and buy from somewhere else
I had Vray for Modo for 415 Euros, others bought it for over 1k in other regions
I have reported the feedback about the local reseller to Chaos, and I'm sure others did the same..
If I had to guess, Bulgaria must have insane taxing regulations or something similar,
I would say this issue with the reseller was probably the only big issue we ever had with Vray.

This is true, I recently called my local re-seller and they refused to upgrade my personal Vray 3 license on the basis that i wasn't representing a company!! So i'm going to go through the trouble now of bypassing them and upgrading my license through another re-seller from another country who has no problem to upgrade it for me. But this is not the first time I have issues with re-sellers, I have now wasted days and will be wasting more time by the time I finally get this license up and running.

I hope Chaosgroup gets rid of the middlemen in the near future, we are willing to pay directly to you and I assume it will be less of a headache for you and for your customers.
