Silly question....

I was downloading the 3.7 update (I'm currently on 3,6) and I see Next 3.1 is available for download, I haven't purchased any upgrades so I assume this is just a trial and I haven't been magically gifted a free upgrade?

All downloads are available on the site, but you can use the builds corresponding to your license version. E.g. if you have a V-Ray 3 license you can use V-Ray 3 builds, if you have a V-Ray Next license - you can use both V-Ray Next and V-RAy 3 builds. If you use a term license (monthly or annual) you can use all available versions.
