  • Licensing for Blender and Cinema: Switch or double

    Hi there,

I sticked to Cinema 4D for years now, until I tried Blenders new 2.8 some days ago and I was impressed about the editor. Anyhow...I want to keep Vray for materials and lights and I do have a bunch of projects made in Cinema+Vray, that I have to edit regulary, so I cannot shut-down the Vray license for C4D for now and for good. Especially because I want to check out the workflow first. So, is it possible to run 2 licenses on the same workstation? Or can I get an additional "trial" for blender? Thanks in advance!

You can have more than one V-Ray license. Additionally - V-Ray in Blender requires only a render node license, so you can use it if you have a V-Ray for Cinema 4D license package.

And you can't use Blender 2.8+ with V-Ray, V-Ray for Blender 2.8+ build is not released yet. You can use V-Ray for Blender 2.79 build which is quite different than Blender 2.8.
