  • License issue after upgrade, need advice...

I recently installed 3ds Max 2019 (had been on 2017) & Vray 3.6 (dongle) on my machine and all my render nodes. Everything was working well, distributed rendering, Back-burner submitted jobs, etc. I then proceeded to uninstall Max 2017 and Vray for Max 2017, as well as all past version of both software. Now I've come to discover that the license server which used to run automatically for the dongle was part of the older Vray software I've uninstalled. I try to run the Vray online license server but nothing happens.

Do I need to reinstall Max 2017 and Vray for Max 2017 so I can migrate the license to online? The Wibukey network server is still running fine as far as I can tell (Version 6.20 Build 1230).

    Any advice?

Try a clean reinstall of the dongle drivers. 6.20 build is too old and won't work with the latest license server.

I've followed your advice but I'm stuck on viewing the license server interface. It simply won't load, saying unable to connect, even after I've turn ad-blocker and my firewall off. Using either the link on the License Server Interface page or the Manage Vray Online License Server from the Start menu results in the same Unable to Connect message. The Wibukey software is running on my machine and not another on the network.

Edit Update: Got it! I had to reinstall the license server as well as the rest of it. Working now. Thanks for your help Ivan!
