I can’t provide specifics for your individual case but if you want, I can have someone from our sales team get in touch with you to discuss the different options. Here are some general calculations, based on our price list:


Upgrade your nodes v3->vNext 10x170=1700 EUR (volume discount included)
Upgrade v Next -> v5 can be either 10x190 =1900 EUR (upgrading each license individually) or EUR1510 through our new 10-node pack offer. So the most affordable combination: EUR 3210 and you can do it in two steps over time.

Alternatively you can also purchase directly a pack of brand new 10 v5 Render nodes for EUR3020. This way you can also keep your existing v3 perpetual licenses, as this is not an upgrade transaction.

Our new predefined render node packs include a bit steeper discounting for bigger packs than our old volume discounts. They are somewhat more limiting, though, because they can only be upgraded as packs - for example you can’t upgrade only 7 of the 10 render nodes in the pack in the future. If this is not your preferred option you can also purchase individual nodes at EUR380 each. In your case 10 nodes would be 3800 EUR (no volume discounts are available excluding the packs) I hope this helps clarify things a bit!

And - to give a reason why I hijacked this thread - i want to add my +1 to the idea of an Indie option for Vray, maybe a reduced price for up to 10 render licenses. Being a solo freelancer, I am seriously considering throwing literally all of my money at Chaosgroup right now for the aforementioned licenses. I am using a combination of Redshift (Houdini) and Vray/Corona (3dsmax), but using Vray in all DCCs and on all render nodes is appealing, but so much money...
