  • Render node license for command line Maya (not distributed)

We have several machines which are dedicated for rendering. We use muster as render farm that uses the Maya command line to start a render on a remote machine.
We bought render node licenses for these machine.

But is it possible to use render node licenses to render maya files? Or does it only work with distributed rendering and standalone?

    Tnx.

if you have maya/vray installed on each node and you have render licenses for each node, you can use command line (mayabatch) to render maya files. It should work.

      Thank you for your reply.
So i can install a demo version of Maya (not licensed) with vray installed. And then use my render node only license to render on it?

yup, that works. You install maya (and Vray) on the nodes and don't even need to open it. Be sure to install same versions everywhere.
