  • Distributed Rendering - License requirements?

    Hi,

we are using V-Ray for 3ds Max 2022 and are currently thinking about implementing Distributed Rendering.
But sadly i am unable to find any information regarding the needed licenses.
Are there any additional licenses needed?
For example a second 3ds Max or V-Ray License for the second PC?

    Thank you in advance.

    Best Regards

Hello, every machine that will participate in the distributed rendering requires a render node license. When you purchase V-Ray for 3ds Max license (subscription) it contains 1x Interface license (used when you edit your scene using V-Ray) and 1x Render node license (used during rendering). For example if you have two machines and you want to use them as workstations and use V-Ray to edit scenes inside 3ds Max then you'll need V-Ray for 3ds Max license (1x Interface + 1x Render node), if you are going to use the second machine only as a render node then you can purchase just additional 1x Render node license.
