  • Error : Could not obtain a license (1002)

So I'm rendering some images in the background through the use of Pulze Render Manager with some lower affinity, while I'm working. I wanted to do some R&D in the meantime and I wanted to render on the same workstation a quick test. But I got this error.

I remember back in the day, that I had no problem rendering (but straight from Max then) two things at the same time. Is this some limitation because I'm rendering through Render Manager and it locks my license?

    Hey Ashley,

    Thanks for reaching out.

If you have a single render node license, you can't render on two machines at the same time and usually this is what generates the 1002 error message.

You can always track the usage of your licenses from the http://localhost:30304/ page.

Hi Borislav, that's the thing. I'm rendering on the same machine. But one I'm trying to render from 3dsmax directly, while the other one is rendering through Render Manager.

Thanks for the update, Ashley, in this case you will need to pause the render manager and make sure that the render node is not in use, when you want to render in 3dsMax or vice versa.

Alternatively you can consider purchasing an additional render node license.
