License Logging

Figured I'd start a thread in this forum as a followup to this SketchUp thread. Just curious if there is any way to log activity on a license server as it relates to which user/machine/ip engages which licenses. Wondered if it isn't currently possible using the local installed licenses (Dongle), then are there any plans to add this feature in the future, or does the Online license system offer this ability?

Looking at it from an IT administrator perspective, we have multiple departments/locations utilizing licenses and are looking for a way to determine who's using what, when & how often. Would help us justify adding more licenses if we could monitor and show that we are 'at capacity' x % of the time, etc.

There's no logging functionality implemented. You can parse the output of http://localhost:30304/sessions to track down license usage, but that's not implemented into the license server.

When I navigate to this address on the server it just takes me to the "getstatus" page where it displays a list of my licenses and their availability. Is the "Sessions" page supposed to display only active sessions or will it display historical usage as well?

That's because you use an older version of the license server (3.x). In that case - the session are visible on the bottom of the status page - http://localhost:30304/getstatus
Only active sessions are shown, there's no logging option that allowes tracking license usage over time built in.
