Which license do I need for render node purchase? Vray 3.6

I just noticed there are two licenses for render nodes now. Currently using Modo for Vray 3.6.

Using an evaluation license, I tried using a the distributed render from vray for modo 3.6 to Vray Next Render slave. It ended up doing a loop of starting session and receiving DR scene. Im guessing this does not work.

Does that mean I have to buy a Vray 3 render node license and a Vray next node license?

V-Ray 3 can work with a V-Ray Next license when speaking for the same type for license - e.g. V-Ray for 3dsMax, V-Ray Render node, etc. In your case - seems to me that you have Beta licenses for V-Ray for Maya Next Beta. If that's the case - a commercial V-Ray for Modo render slave will not work with a Beta license. More to that - using different render slave versions is not supported and most likely you'll get incorrect results even if you are able to render at all - the more the difference in the version - the worse the result.

Okay thanks. Well just to clarify, If I purchase a Vray Next Render Node license, I will be able to use Vray for Modo 3.6 Workstation with it?

If you're using license server version 5.1.1 or newer - yes.
