  • V-Ray 3 RN does not refer to V-Ray Next RN license.

Even on the latest license server[5.1.2], V-Ray 3 RenderNode does not refer to the V-Ray Next available license and causes a license error.

    Is there a solution?

    Hello,

According to the screenshot that you sent the total number of V-Ray 3.0 Render node licenses is 14 and 17 are engaged ( -3 indicates that 3x V-Ray Next Render nodes licenses are engaged by V-Ray 3.0 ).
Please note that currently the backwards compatibility with licenses on a dongle should work, however there are known issues with the interface of the license server not displaying the V-Ray Next Render nodes as engaged.

Please consider migrating the dongle licenses to the Online licensing system - there should be no issues with the web interface of the license server and the Online licensing system.

If you still get errors with the licensing afterwards or the licenses are not displayed correctly please send us the following to support@chaosgroup.com :
    1. The output from the following pages (please save them in separate txt files):
    http://localhost:30304/status
    http://localhost:30304/sessions/online
    2. The logs from the license server:
    http://localhost:30304/logs/download
    3. The exact error code received on the workstation/render node.

Is there any chance that this problem will be fixed?

Some users have difficulty selecting online licenses. (Fully used in offline environment)

We're working on improvements and some changes in the way offline licensing is being handled, so the users will get better user experience when implemented.
