That happen more than 25 years ago....I learnt software when educational version was only available for universities, no internet, my cell phone was almost the size of a laptop, no texting, etc..... And I had to charge my cell once a week.

Drug dealers do it, so why not software developers? I guess I understand the less fortunate learning software illegally to feed their families, however, greed is wide spread and I can see these sweatshops with 100’s of cracked seats of MAX and VRay running to price the legit people out of the market,

I got your point but the truth is people are learning how to use the software using illegal copies, even in the USA in case you are thinking this country is a paradise and everybody is doing everything right... Architecture students prefer to spend their money on high-end gaming laptops rather than legal software ( even if they have good deals) here in the USA. and you are dealing with these guys too in the visualization market....they work in firms using legal software and eventually they realize (maybe) that is better to pay the lastest 100% working apps instead of a limited version.....It's a reality!!.
It sounds like a conspiracy theory but I'm still thinking some illegal copies are intentionally released by companies to spread it, they easily can have an expiration date, so one day stops working....a lot people here in this community started in 3d when they were teenagers so do you think a 14-15 years old can afford 3ds max and Vray?

I would fear malware or viruses, so I have always stayed away. No, I don't assume piracy happens only in other countries. In my experience, we are all pretty much the same in most ways. I guess my point was, shame on the people making money on the software and not paying for it. For me, it's a small percentage of what I make, so it is a no brainer unless the software is unstable for all the hard earned money I spend on it.

Why doesn't one of these hackers fix the IVY generator to work in MAX 2019?

In my experience, we are all pretty much the same in most ways.

Insofar as we all eat, sleep and sh*t, sure.
But we really aren't for any of the higher-level constructs, like economy, culture, philosophy.

I dare say I've learned Vray and Max on a pirated copy and I think that goes for a lot of us here. At 16-17 years old not a lot have the funds or even knowledge to go and buy something that you can't even grasp or earn money with at the time.
