Server went off, and it takes an hour to realize it;s not our fault. This is just not an option. We need to go back to dongle based licenses. God forbid our internet went out. No one wants "online licenses". Besides, most security approved VFX shops have to have a network "offline" to handle client content.

Please excuse us for the delayed reply. Here is more information about what happened, why,what actions were taken from our side, and what you can do on your side to escape this situation for the future.- The outage happened because of overload on our licensing infrastructure;
- We have been working on a back-up system to redirect and handle license requests in cases of emergency when the main infrastructure fails; this is already deployed and functioning;
- We have been working for some time on https://status.chaosgroup.com which monitors our various systems and flags any interruptions; this system also alerts staff on our side when something breaks;
- Borrowing a portion of your licenses locally for offline use can help you to be independent of any interruptions in the future; if you need help on setting borrowed licenses, we'll be glad to help;
More information regarding Borrowing subject could be found here: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...or+Offline+Use - We have planned on duplicating our licensing infrastructure in GCP for different parts of the world so failure in one region won't affect other regions;
We know that having service failures is inexcusable; the above steps should make the chances of a repeat much smaller in the future.Last edited by Svetlozar Draganov; 12-03-2019, 04:40 AM.
