Vray Next Render Node License

I've recently upgraded my Vray 3 workstation license to Vray Next. Previously I had a desktop workstation I could use for UI plus rendering, and I would use an additional laptop as a second distributed rendering machine. I mistakenly assumed that the Vray 3 render node I was using on my laptop would "upgrade" to work with Vray 4. I described my setup to my local re-seller, but he failed to mention my old Vray 3 node for the laptop would now be useless.

So before I fork out another $600 to achieve the same situation as I had before (rendering on 2 PCs simultaneously), can I just confirm that the old Vray 3 render node is not usable?

Hello,

Yes, the render node license needs to be updated in order to use it with V-Ray Next. At the moment you can only use it with V-Ray 3 ( V-Ray Next licenses have backward compatibility with V-Ray 3)
