  • Cannot obtain License 10061

We have 2 machines which seem to have intermittent trouble on obtaining a license.

    We are using online licensing.

One machine will lose the ability when it's been restarted. The solution is simply to close 3dsmax and open 3dsmax again, this works every time.

Another machine is losing it when acting as a DR slave. We simply restart Vrspawner and everything is good again. The problem is that if we're sending a lot of renders to it overnight we don't know if it will resolve itself or not. It doesn't add itself back in until a new render is started and we haven't risked leaving it to see if it sorts itself out.

The machines are using the same connection as another two which are on the same network and running fine.

Reading the log it says the connection was refused.

It renders for perhaps 2-3 hours before this happens, and it happens mid render.

    Any advice what to check?

Thank you for the screenshot and explanation. It seems that there is something that is blocking the connection from the machines to obtain a license of the license server. Could you please confirm how many machines you are using for Distributed Rendering at the same time and how many licenses you have?
What is the OS of these machines and do they have any antivirus or firewall programs active? What is the V-Ray version installed and 3D application version? Could you reproduce this issue every time you run Distributed Rendering? I think it would be best to write us an e-mail at support@chaosgroup.com and mention the e-mail/username tied to your licenses, so we can check it in our database and make a remote session if needed in order to connect and investigate the issue locally on the problematic machines. Thank you.
