License server error -198

Hello,

My pc recently crashed, and i installed it again. But before the crashed I use a borrowed licence.

I've freshly re install my pc with max and vray. But I cannot cancel my borrowed licence of vray. And I can't use it right now for my work.

I tried to cancel it on the local internet manager. But the manager said to me the pc is offline, and it can't see the borrowed licence to cancel it.

What can i do ?.

Getting the same issue, except I had a CUDA error 700. Restarted my pc and now it keeps telling me the license is in use and I can't render

Same issue with dongle and network license.

EDIT: Rebooting didn't help. In the end I had to manually restart the license service on the server whilst the workstation was trying to connect. Then the error changed to -200, then after a few seconds it worked again.

can you explain this any further? Im pulling my hair out here after about 5 hours of not being able to work on a work day thanks to Vray chewing up my license.

Why oh why isnt there a "refresh licence" or "release license" on the licensing page? Why cant we tell Vray when its shat the bed and has made a mistake? I lose valuable work time sitting and waiting for support to come online on Monday, or for the license to magically reappear...whenever that might be....

I received this from support today regarding the -198 license error

Hello, uninstall the Chaos license server (from Control Panel -->Programs and features), then open Windows explorer and navigate to C:\Program files\Common files\Chaosgroup and delete the ssl folder. After that login to our website, download and install the Chaos license server from the link below:
https://download.chaosgroup.com/?platform=47&product=48
During the installation click on Customize and untick the box "Activate during installation" and click on Install now. If you see any error messages click on the Ignore button. After the installation is finished open http://localhost:30304 in your web browser and activate the Online licensing with your email. After that you should see your licenses listed on the page and be able to use V-Ray.
