  • The ChaosGroup License Server could not be reached (refused connection).

    Hey guys, everything was working great last night and then today went to render something and now I cant obtain a license. (Machine hasn't been switched off or anything so nothing has changed on the system)
    I get the error message "[21:51:02.121] Error : Could not obtain a license (10061): 10061: The ChaosGroup License Server could not be reached (refused connection)."
    When I go to http://localhost:30304/ I get an error and it says "localhost refused to connect"

    I have checked my licenses on chaos.com and they are still active, any ideas what could be the problem?

    Also yep checked my internet and doesn't look like there are any connection issues?

    Hello Cameron,

    Please uninstall the Chaos license server and remove any remaining files from the following folder:

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\ChaosGroup\ssl

    Afterwards, download and install the latest Chaos license server 5.5.5 from the following page:

    https://download.chaos.com/downloads...dalone-555-adv

    Go to the Chaos License server page (http://localhost:30304), enable your Online licensing and tell us if you can see/use your V-Ray licenses.

    If this does not help, please open an official ticket via the Contact us form and send us screenshots from the localhost page.

      Thanks, the reinstall and it works now. Renders are coming out again.
      I wonder what changed since last night that broke it?

          Dear Chaos corona,


          I have a yearly subscription running.
          Yet there is an error message 10061: The ChaosGroup Licence Server could not be reached (refused connection).
          Attaching screenshot of the same.
          What is this issue. I am not able to render anything.
          I have urgent submissions to make to my clients.
          I have tried re-installing Corona renderer multiple times. Still no success.
          I have also re-installed 3D Max 2022. But still the problem persists.

          Please help me solve this issue immediately. As I can not afford to lose any more time.

              Hey guys. I experienced the same problem with the refused connection but I found a workaround that worked for me that I think is easier than re-installing the License Server. Just go to Start, search for Chaos Licensing Server and between the results you will find Start Chaos Licensing Server, click on it. This solved the problem for me, maybe it can help others. Cheers.

                That will help only with versions 6.x.x of the license server and only if just the process is stopped for some reason but otherwise the server is working properly.
