Hey all,
First off, I'm not the biggest tech guru in the world, but I have been using 3ds Max and V-Ray for longer than I should admit to the web, even though my post count is nil.
My team and I have been running into an issue regarding the embree tree after the newest V-Ray 7.0004 download (3ds Max 2024). Oddly, it seems that when we go through the motions, one or two of our machines will return to functioning, but we have not had all three working properly for over a month. I was thinking if it was a version issue, a hotfix would not be far behind and I wasn't worried. Everything on all computers functions just fine if we rollback to V-Ray 6.2006
Yes, we have updated our license server. Yes, licenses are available. Yes, I have made sure that the redistributables that accompany V-Ray have been installed.
Previously, I was able to solve this exact problem by uninstalling any newer version of C++ Redistributables and making sure that the one that comes along with the V-Ray build was the newest installed. That appears to have been a temporary solution.
I have tried uninstalling everything Chaos, deleting any folder associated with Chaos and/or a cache that might be associated with Chaos.
After reinstalling everything (and prior to uninstalling), 3ds Max states that a license is being found properly, and the license server shows when I check one out properly.
Scene does not matter, as I cannot even render a simple V-Ray plane with a box with a flat grey V-Ray MTL applied and a daylight system in the scene.
I have attached a V-Ray log from one of the recent failures for reference.
Basic machine specs are below, so not a hardware issue in any of the offending scnearios.
Windows 11
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti
64GB of RAM
i9-12900K processor
