  • Licensing Issues

    Hello - We are having some issues with out floating licenses. The license server process is consuming 50%-75% of the CPU, clients are not able to get licenses and report 'Could not obtain a license (-8 ).' on render nodes, and 'Could not obtain a license (-96).' on GUI systems.

    The logs on the server are approaching 1.5 GBs and are filled with messages like:

    {"name":"FLP","hostname":"<HOSTNAME>","pid":186 8," level":10,"key":"ACEE73396B655B93E5B15CC059D2A57F" ,"mode":"d","msg":"Handler cannot handle license request, continuing.","time":"2017-11-11T07:08:47.237Z","v":0}

    And on the localhost:30304 site we get notifications that say the following:

    Dongle subsystem failed to hand license request (connect EADDRINUSE 127.0.0.1:30314)
    and
    License Request could not be handled.

        EADDRINUSE means the port is already open and in use. Did you try restarting the license server? Also - what license server version are you using? If a restart doesn't help - it'll be best to write us at support@chaosgroup.com
