License issue with latest version of Sketchup 2018 and latest version of Vray for SU

Hey there.
New to the forum.
I'm in the middle of a project and was wondering if anyone could offer some help.
I have a dongle. I'm on a mac running High Sierra. Vray appears to be installed, I can see the plugin and it's various icons with the SU.
When I attempt to use it my computer says "failed to check out GUI license" ...thumbnail below.
I was told by support to install the latest server... but the second thumbnail below illustrates the issue. The installer won't install the latest installer on my machine without...closing the current installer?
insane.

any help much appreciated.

You probably have an older license server still running.
Navigate to /Applications/ChaosGroup/VRLService and check if there's a folder other than "OLS" (for example "snow_leopard_x64"). If there is - navigate to it and to the "Uninstall" folder inside it and run the uninstaller to remove the old license server. After that run the installation of the new one.
