  • Intermittent license problem.

    Hi,
I'm having a strange problem. We have dongle based licensing here with 137 licenses.
I've just upgraded to a new windows license server. Windows server 2012 R2 datacenter. 16 GB memory.
When clients try to check out a license it sometimes takes two or three attempts.
I get the "Error: Could not obtain an interface license (-200): The ChaosGroup License Server could not be reached."
But then I try a few times and it connects.
I've turned off the firewall. But even if it was the firewall it would fail every time, not just occasionally.
I can connect to the license server in a browser at port 30304.
I've removed and re-installed the license server and dongle drivers.
Is there anything else I should adjust or try?
    Thanks,
    Rob

    Hello Rob,

    Please do the following:
    1. Login on the license server computer.
    2. Go to http://localhost:30304/#/settings then set the log level to "Extra verbose" and save the settings
    3. Stop the VRLService running on the license server ( services.msc )
    4. Delete the contents of the "C:\Program Files\Common Files\ChaosGroup\logs" folder
    5. Start the VRLService then try to obtain the licenses from a few workstations/render nodes.
    6. Afterwards please download the logs from http://localhost:30304/logs/download and send them to support@chaosgroup.com

Additionally please send us a screenshot of the WibuKey utility "Contents" and "Install" tabs in the same mail (you can access it from "Control Panel" -> "WibuKey")
