  • Wandering about changing vray installation location

    Hello.
Sorry to bother but didn't find any place to post question about installation.

Just want to ask because my CAD software is installed on E drive(SSD), however I couldn't find any place in vray installation to change my vray installation folder so that it wont go instal directly to C drive.

Anyway to change the installation location?

Now my Vray and CAD software are on two different drive lol. Right now it is working on my C drive or E drive???

    Hello,

V-Ray installation options are different for each 3d platform.

In case the installer does not give you an option to chose the installation folder of V-Ray you can run it in the command line with the parameter "-gui=0" (without quotes)
This will create a config.xml file for the unattended installation of V-Ray. You can edit the file and change the installation options that are not available in the GUI installer then run the setup again with the parameters "-gui=0 -configFile="path_to_xml_file.xml" -quiet=1" ( replace the path_to_xml_file.xml with the actual path to the newly generated config.xml)

Please let us know what is the 3d Platform (CAD software) that you use with V-Ray and your Operating system version to provide you with more specific instructions.
