In my scene I have a HDRI Skylight, a vray plane and one geosphere with extruded faces that seems like a star with about 80 points.
I have made a fly-through animation while the star rotates, so I can't use another mode but "Single Frame" for the primary bounces (Irradiance Map), and I have used 800 subdivs for the second bounces Light cache.
For the Irradiance Map I have used preset Very high, HSph 200, Interp. Samples 100.
But the faces of the star are still change the luminance between the frames, like this example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWehorg2rVw
