Performance with Rhino?

I just purchased Vray 1.5 for rhino 5. I havent gotten the dongle yet.

I'm just exploring the menus and seeing how they differ from the rhino 4 version of vray.

The options window constantly locks up my Rhino/Vray for a moment and really hinders the performance -- i literally will not be able to do any work let alone render with it acting like this.

Is there something i need to do to make it so i can at least use the program when i have the options window opened?

my computer specs are:
Intel i7 1st gen
16 gb ram
evga gtx 570

oh sorry i didnt notice that. Thank you. However, i cant seem to post in the vray forum. it says i dont have permission and i dont know how to get it, any ideas? In the meantime i'll try the email.
