Playback Performance Issue on Mac

Hi.
I am normally working on windows and using Pdplayer without issues.
Now I am working on a MacMachine and Pdplayer is preloading a Sequence fine in RAM, but the fps is only getting up to 3-4 frames a second, when playing back.
RAM and Machine are fine. Any ideas or tips, how I get Pdplayer to playback in 25fps?

What are the output files and does it happen with other sequences? Seems to be working fine here with a simple test with 55 .EXR frames. Are you sure the frame rate on the mac machine is set to 25.00?

Thanks for replying.
I tested with exr files (which are 6k) and also with smaller (HD) jpgs and both cache into RAM and then playback at around 3-4fps. The fps in Pdplayer is set to 25fps (the lower left value right next to the timeline). Is there any other place for setting the fps, I am not aware of?
