  • Smoke Bomb

    Hi

I'm trying to recreate the smoke bomb effects so far I used vertex paint and RGB settings to blend the colours together.

I can't seem to get the shape and volume of the smoke bomb reference.

If anyone can offer any advice this would be great!

So far I´d say you mostly need to work on your opacity diagramm, the smoke in the reference looks more opaque to me. Also trying to match perspective and lighting from the reference image, I was quite surprised how much of the look sometimes comes from lighting.
Also for he colouring...the reference seems much more uniformly colored, just right at the emission it looks coloured differently and that might be just from the ignition, so maybe just put a coloured light there.

        Hey,

My suggestion is to create another sphere as a source and start over with the Large-scale smoke preset.
After creating the preset, reduce the Scene scale value to 5 or 10 and assign the RGB vertex paint that you like in the source.

Just to note - reducing the Scene scale value to 5-10 is regarding your scene - if it's a totally new scene those values will be different as the Preset values scale accordingly to your scene scale.
