  • How to kill particles falling outside geometry?

Some of foam/mist particles are falling outside the geometry. Basically I'm half filling a sphere with fluids then using turbulance to fake a sea swell inside a ball (with a shell). Mist and foam particles keep falling through.

    Hey,

If your geometry is closed this shouldn't happen and sounds like a bug. If you add a STL check modifier to your geometry and you run a check - are there any issues with it?

Otherwise you can make a dummy object, right-click on it and from the PhoenixFD properties disable the Solid checkbox, enable the Clear inside and in the field next to it add the particle types you wish to kill. This way if a particle of the set type enters the volume of the dummy geometry it will be deleted.

Ok. It should be closed, it's only a sphere with a shell. I'll double check the fill object to make sure that is within the sphere. I'll try the other method if it continues. Thanks

Make sure to use a latest Phoenix 3.12 build if the issue is still there and the geometry is closed - please send over the scene to support@chaosgroup.com so we can check it out.
