  • Simulation Multiple render nodes

Is this possible? I'm using backburner but the phonex submit to backburner only creates a single job for a single node.

    Hey,

There is no distributed simulation yet. It's a tougher problem than distributed rendering since simulation requires non-stop interaction between the different areas in the simulation volume. Having this happen over NUMA nodes on the same motherboard currently slows down the simulation significantly, and having it over a network is much worse. It could be implemented specifically for certain use cases like other software packages do at the moment, but it will not be a complete solution that would work for any scene.

    Cheers!

      Hey,

Just so we are on the same page - are you asking for creating a separate backburner job for each selected simulator or distributing the one simulation across several machines?

I was talking about distributing one simulation across several machines.

        Thanks for the info though.
