    Hi, I know vray next and octane have basic fog atmosphere but it is not that good.
    Anyway we can use phoenix to create fog WITH NOISE in different places of the scene. Not sure how to do it if the scene is 10 miles in size (that's billions of grid cells). Can we have phoenix create fog during rendering like you have infinite ocean option.
    If not please add this one day.

    Hey,

    You can create a Phoenix simulator over the space you wish to cover then in the Volumetric options disable the Fire and in the Smoke opacity set it to be based on Smoke.
    Then just offset the first point of the curve to have a value above 0 - this is what will control how thick the fog will be. And that's it - you can now run a render and you should get a fog effect with no simulation at all.
    You can use textures with this method as well so you can have different opacity or color. You can decrease your grid resolution for such scenes as it won't be taken into account when sampling the textures.

      Hi Will it work with octane? I think render settings dont work with third party renderers?

      Do you have a sample scene by any chance?

        Indeed - this won't work with Octane I'm afraid. Here is a sample scene using the Scanline render.

          Are there any plans to make it work with third party renders similar to infinite ocean? Or third party renderers must implement it

            Especially GPU renderers would have to implement it themselves unfortunately - it's a specific of how GPU development nowadays works. We are talking about the infinite cloudscape that should work like the infinite ocean tex, correct?

              Yes,
              Maybe it internally creates infinite vdb with noise applied during rendering and can work with any renderer that supports volumes.

              Standard 3ds max have volume fog generator using gizmos unfortunately modern engines don't support it but at the same time never implemented their fog. Would be nice to use phoenix grid as volume generator with noise.
