How to get vdb's into PhoenixFD 4.0 and Cache convert to vdb in 3dsMax?

    Hey,

Beware that there is an issue with the cache converter in the official 4.0 builds, so you gotta grab one for the nightly builds.

Not sure I understand the question any further though... Can you describe in more detail what you wanna do?

    Cheers!

Installed latest nightly build for 3dsMax...looked for vdb converter at C:\Program Files\Chaos Group\Phoenix FD\3ds Max 2019 for x64. Couldn't find the convertor. How can I export a vdb sequence from 3dsMax? Found the Alembic exporter, but cannot figure out the vdb export. Thanks

Yup, almost there - you need to look for cache_converter.exe - here is the full directory: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...ache+Converter

And here is how to write the simulation to VDB without having to convert from aur to vdb later: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...ationtoOpenVDB

        Cheers!

Is the converter only for Maya?

Nope, the converter is universal and it comes with the installations for both Maya and Max.
