  • bubbles / foam size

    Hi everyone!

I am trying to create simple bubbles / foam for a static rendering.

In the attached pictures you'll see what I got so far.

Is there a way to define where I get big bubbles and small bubbles? Like vertex color ot texture map? I need the water bubbles towards the visible water surface to be smaller and towars the outside bigger. Like in the third picture I attached.

Also there is no real "water" unterneath yet, just a basic plane. I placed the bubbles by letting them fall on the plane and stopping them moving towards the center with another sphere. maybe someone knows a better way.

    thanks for your help!

    Hey,

You can control the size of the bubbles from two places:
    - from the Foam settings - you can read more about it here - https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...iquidFoam-Size
    - from the Particle Shader - you can find more here - https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...oam-Parameters

Unfortunately at this point we don't support controlling the particle size using textures, but this is in our to do list.

As a workaround you could use something like pflow or tyFlow to create the particles and use textures to control the placement and the size. Then render those out using the Particle shader.

Here is an example scene how this works with tyFlow (note that as tyFlow is still in beta - the latest available version at the moment - 0.16084 can't render Phoenix particles, but 0.16074 seems to render correctly - we have reported the issue to the tyflow dev team so I hope they will fix it soon)

Hi, I was searching the forum for this "controlling the particle size using textures". +1 from me, I'd really like that!
