Is there a workaround for being able to stop and then continue a resim that's adding detail to smoke/fire that is also doing a retime slowdown? When I tried to continue a stopped sim (even though there was continue frame data saved) it said I have to disable the retime to be able to continue it, so had to start the sim over. Now I'm days into this huge resim and keep having to pause the sim all day (while it holds the ram of course) just so it can be continued at night. I'll probably let this one finish in a few days, but can't see myself doing this every time for really huge sims.
Is the only way around this to resim first, while saving velocity data (huge disk usage), and then do a retime slowdown separately?
