  • Advection Origin Motion Blur

    Hi,

strange Question but how do I get the "Use Advection Origin for Motion Blur" Option to work?

I have a Advection Origin Pass but if I check this no Motion Blur is applied.

Do I have to put a Texture into Rendering/Velocity Texture?
I didn't found anything about this so I tough it's just check this Box and you're ready to Render.

    Cheers

Ah, so the Advection Origin is a grid channel. You gotta:
    - Check Advection Origin for export to cache in the Output rollout
    - Simulate

and then you can render using the 'Use Advection Origin for Motion Blur' option. Doesn't matter when exactly you check that one.

    Hope this helps, cheers!

      Hi Svetlin,

I've done that but its not working.

      I used a follow path.

I did a simple test Scene but also no luck to get motion blur with the Advection Origin Technic.

I use Phoenix FD 4.20.01 Nightly Build ID 2020081830279 and Vray 5 for Maya v5.00.20 from Aug 5 2020 and Maya 2019.3.1

Ahhh, I see, you are using it for liquids.

'Use Advection Origin for Motion Blur' will only work in Volumetric, Volumetric Geometry, or Isosurface mode. For liquids you gotta switch from Mesh to Isosurface.

Will update the docs, we've overlooked it, thank you!
